Editorial Departure

By: HELEN MAGAMPON

The day has dawned at last! Nothing is greater in a man's life than the day of his triumph. After four long years of waiting and hoping- years marked with sleepless nights of struggle with books, we are to realize the fulfilment of our undertakings.

This day of triumph has been much awaited day—GRADUATION DAY—a day which fills us with both happiness and sorrow. The moments fill us with joy because we have won what we strived for. On this moment too we feel sad due to parting with our friends and beloved teachers, with whom we have shared countless days of happiness.

But we should remember that the triumph which we have accomplished is not ours alone nor is the pride! There are others behind to whom real credit belongs. All that we are now we owe to our parents and teachers who exerted efforts to make this event possible.

To our beloved teachers, we express our sincerest gratitude for your valuable guidance, for your efforts that you have led us to this day of triumph. We thank you for everything you have imparted to us—the struggle for existence. We shall never forget the unselfish devotions you have show to us.

With our dear ALMA MATER, the PADRE VICENTE GARCIA MEMORIAL ACADEMY we share this glorious moment. To you we owe mostly the realization of this important event in our lives, the maturity of a dream come true.

We are proud to be called your sons and daughters. We feel that we are part of you, the years we have spent in your presence have taught us to respect you.

Now we must depart, and in leaving, we shall strive to be worthy of your examples. We face the future with hope and fortitude, certain that God who guides the destiny of men and nations never abandons whoever follows His guiding hand.
