Rizal Day

By: NERVA AMADA

Last December 30, 1981 the town of Rosario headed by our able and kindhearted Mayor Felicisimo H. Luna with the cooperation of our dear Alma Mater, P.V.G.M.A and other schools within the town, held a simple but colorful and worth remembering program and parade to commemorate the death anniversary of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.

The program consisted of the speeches of the town officials, poems, songs and folk dances which were participated in by the teachers and students from different schools especially the P.V.G.M.A. The highlight of the program was the presentation of the drama entitled "The Last Farewell" of Dr. Jose Rizal.

There was a parade participated in by town officials, teachers, students and members of barangay brigade and muses who rose in colorful floats. Representing the Academy was Kronwyn Katigbac with her escort, Rolando Casao. Officers and cadets from our school also joined the parade.

This year's affair was a successful one and everyone is forward for another presentation next year.

Reminiscences of PVGMA: Rosario, Batangas

I've been looking around my old things a week ago and I got across three issues of The PAVIGAMEAN, Official Organ of the P.V.G.M.A. Student Body published around 1982-1983.

Memories my of high school years in Rosario, Batangas came back to mind like something that happened just recently. Time and space were inconsequential with imprints of the past you want to refresh once in a while.

Friends, flames and fires of old come back to life. Ahhh, high school days! Some may have their own ideas. But perhaps, high school days really are among the most treasured days of our lives.

In the succeeding posts, I will reprint excerpts from the above sources so that you will see how we looked at things, how we interpreted the world and what were the things that mattered most for us back then.
